Dignity of woe is all I got
Nobody answers the door
No discipline
No quiet space
I remember you
You had a face
But I wasn’t Torment
But I wasn’t Disarray
I walked in circles endlessly
Looking for something to say
I don’t remember the dirt we washed
Nor if the filth was there to last
All I know is that the smell of the lather
Made me sick to the stomach
I don’t remember the sky turning black
I don’t know if the day was bright
But I know everything about it
Made me sick to the stomach
I don’t remember the birds we watched
Nor if you saw how ugly I was
All I know is that the smell of the flowers
Made me sick to the stomach
I don’t remember the eyes so wide
I don’t know if the gore was ripe
But I know everything about you
Makes me sick to the stomach
I’m sick to the stomach
This petty dance, with joint arms
Lifting my heart
Killing, killing me
Dance, alright
You make me sick to the stomach
Sick to the stomach
I don’t know where I was that time but I was
Sick to the stomach
I won’t show how I feel at times but I feel
Sick to the stomach
I don’t know who I was that time but I was
Sick to the stomach
Darkwave at its finest. Electronic music that vibes the 80s and is dark, gloomy, and danceable. But the music isn’t the product, it’s the vocals that inform the aesthetic. Heavy and soft, powerful and fragile; darkness at its finest. It’s haunting and moody.
Reminds me a lot of France’s Minuit Machine, whose first two LPs were influential in my delving into retro 80s post-punk and electronica. Lute FP
